Hi,

I ordered the OCW 120gb Mercury Pro SSD for my Macbook PRO 2010(7,1 edition), 10.6.7, and 500gb hard disk.

What method should I use to setup the SSD for running the programs and 500gb spinning hard drive for data?

Is this the right way:

Take a snap shot to an external drive of the operating system in main drive(spinning) using Carbon Clone or Super Duper.

Install SSD.

Format SSD(HOW do i format SSDs?)

Install disk image to SSD using CC or super duper.

Set up SSD as bootup disk.

THanks.

I'd do the following:
1) Put SSD in external hard drive enclosure
2) Use Carbon Copy Cloner to clone the disk to the SSD
3) Install the SSD

Then you're good.
