Testing Water: For Sale G5 iMac, Huddersfield area, UK
Hi,
I got a new G5 iMac at the end of Ocotber and its a great machine. However, I also have an alu Powerbook *and* work have just bought me a new Centrino laptop onto which I've put Linux. I am rather computer heavy. Because of my leanings towards mobile computing the iMac is not getting used as much as it ought to. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in buying it? Its in perfect condition, was a built to order model, with the following spec: 1.8 GHz G5 17" widescreen 1GB RAM 160 GB HDD Airport Extreme built-in Bluetooth built in with bluetooth keyboard and mouse (so no cables to worry about). OS X 10.3 Its a great machine and every bit as good as everyone says it is. Let me know if anyone is interested, Sean. |

Some Photos
Here are some photos I took with my camera phone - not great quality but probably best for the internet:

Canada shipping may be expensive yes
Yes I reckon it would be cost prohibitive to ship it to Canada - shipping costs, import duty and so on.
If you were UK based it might be a goer. I'd really like to get back as much of what I paid for it as possible - I think it'd cost about £1340 to buy from the Applestore with the ensuing BTO delay. I'd ideally like to get £1200 for it but that may be overly optimistic. As I said I'm just seeing what the market will bear at this stage ... this is the first Mac I've thought about selling. I could probably throw in a computer game like Knights of the Old Republic or something. Last edited by lucius : Feb 27, 2005 at 04:00 PM. |

Bit closer to home
Not as far away as Canada. Is this still available? Based in London. How much are you looking for it?

Interesting…
Aren't the 17" G5 Imacs £999 now for a 1.8GHz model? Or am I missing something? Also is there Applecare on it?
Thanks |

£999 for the basics but...
Quote:
Hi, Its 999 for the default, mine is a BTO one with extras: the airport extreme, the bluetooth keyboard and mouse, the extra 768MB of RAM (256 standard, mine has 1GB), the 160 GB harddrive... it all adds up. No applecare no, I don't think its worth the money to be honest with you. It makes more sense to get separate insurance on it against breakage and theft. |
