Charge iPad with macbook charger

Hi,

Is it ok to charge the ipad using the macbook charger? (i.e. taking the 85w adapter off the main cable and attaching the 10w adapter instead)

Do you mean the cord that plugs into the wall outlet? If so yeah, that can be done. But the other half is completely incompatible with the iPad.

The detachable bit is simply an extension cord, and is totally interchangeable. You'll be just fine with the MacBook cord. I use it all the time.
