Rules for Mac App store app advertising

There should be some guidelines set up regarding advertising Mac App store apps in that forum section, so either you can easily identify them and avoid them, or implementing a checkbox for the poster indicating it's advertisement so you can set up an ignore system in the forum software. I'm getting tired of checking out threads like Video Image Extractor only to find out it's just advertisement for another silly app.

There are Guidelines set up, if they are not breaking these, then they are not doing anything wrong.

You could report it for not following this rule... see what the mods make of the thread.
make clear that you are the software developer and what company you represent. If you post links to the App Store then users can find your company name and URL in the App Store. Otherwise (particularly for Mac developers) we strongly recommend that you identify yourself by company name and URL in the first post when you start a thread in the Apple Applications section. If the moderators can't tell that you are the developer of software you promote, your threads or posts may be removed. We also suggest that you fill in the Home Page URL field in your User Profile so users of your applications can easily find your website. You are also welcome to put the link in your forum signature; normal rules for forum signatures apply to developers.
