Good speakers for my iBook?

Anybody have good suggestions for speakers for my iBook?

Looks aren't important -- I want a subwoofer and a good price

soundsticks, oh yeah!

I just got the Harmon Kardon Soundsticks II from buy.com for $112 and they rock. I use them on my iBook and they sound great, look great and weren't too expensive.

Like the Kool Aid man says, "OH YEAH!"

I just got the Klipsch Promedia 2.1. They sound AMAZING! 150 Bucks. 200 watts. Look like a Professional Monitor system. I love them. They make my office sound like an Escalade with a pimped out sound system.

Good Luck

FWIW, you can get a decent set of logitech 2.1 speakers for probably $45. They won't be the best things in the world, but unless you're an audiophile they'll probably work just fine.

When I picked out my speakers, I made a short list of well recommended speakers and brands on boards like this one and then went to the stores to listen to them in person. Your ears and preferred styles of music will differ from others'.

Here's a link to the Klipsch website for info purposes. I bought them @ Best Buy for $149.99. I highly recommend them.

Had these a couple of years and everybody loves them. They are very, very loud and have a great control unit.

Logitech Z-2200, can be had for pretty cheap, 200 watts, THX certified, look nice. Very good speakers, and when you factor in the price they're a steal. The MSRP is $149, but they can be had for much cheaper, like under $75-100 after rebates.
