Hi all

Just a quick heads up.
I have recently purchased a 2011 Macbook Pro 13" i5, and a week or so after purchase noticed the fan running 70%+ of the time no matter what apps were running, very poor battery life (less then 2.5 hours) & very high temps.

The issue = HP Printer and Scanner drivers!

I checked in the activity monitor and noticed an HPshortcut app running in the background maxing out (100%) the CPU. This was installed with HP's driver and software for their photo scanners and has caused many weeks of confusion, for myself and apple support.

HP - sort out your crap driver software!

I have now deleted all HP software from my MBP and my system is running MINT!

I know that overheating and poor battery performance seems to be a common talking point with the new MBP so I wonder how many folks out there have HP drivers installed causing mayhem with their system.

Cheers!
