hi d00ds, i'll be getting an iMac/iBook really soon (as soon as the next update, which ever comes first). My iPod is formated in PC format (iTunes is on my company notebook), but how could I migrate my tunes when my mac arrives?

I dun really want to transfer my tunes from the notebook to the mac to the iPod.

I'm thinking, could I use samba (on my new Mac) to recognize the files in my iPod, port the files over into my Mac, re-format my iPod, and then port the songs back into my iPod?

Pls forgive my ignorance

no worries dude... a pc formated ipod can be seen in os x just fine ;) soo what id do is this...

first dl this proggy...

http://www.isophonic.net/applications/

its the ipod extractor one...

once u hab that installed on ur ibook/imac.. run that and have it find ur pc formatted ipod.. which it should... then hit extract... now depending on how many songs u hab, it may take a while.. what id do is just have it extract to a generic folder on ur desktop... once thats done (the dark green arrow goes off) all ur songs are located in that one folder u saved em so ur good... now id dl this

http://www.apple.com/ipod/download/

which is the latest ipod updater for mac/pc... obviously dl the mac one and run it... u hab to hit restore to make it fully "macish" lol... once thats done, drag that big ol' folder that ur tunes were in into itunes and sync up ;)
