Every time I download something new and the file gets put in my Downloads folder, the stack shows that file's icon to be blank. The only way I've found to get the actual icon of that file to show up, is to right click the stack, go to "display as folder", then back click "display as stack" again.

Any way to fix this? Although, if I click the stack, then the top file's icon and the rest do show up.

When you have "Display as stack" selected, the file icon that shows should be that of the first file in the stack (depending on how you have the stack sorted). If it's not working as expected, try dragging the Downloads folder off the Dock and replacing it from Finder.

I have tried that before, and just again now just to make sure. It doesn't seem to help. I get the same results.

The way I sort my main downloads folder is by "Date Modified" because I used to sort by "Date Added" but that has screwed up not so recently. Instead of showing the files from newest to oldest, it does the opposite. "Date Modified" seems to be acting like date added now - very strange.
