Wireless or USB 1.1

I just bought a new external HD. I want to transfer my iTunes library on to it. Which would be faster: transfering the songs over my wireless network wile the drive is connected to my iBook and transferring them straight tomy drive, or just doing usb from my iMac G4 with usb 1.1 (where the library currently is)?

P.S. Will the CompUSA drive i got work on macs? It is USB 2.0.
 
I'd use the iMac because the connection will be more stable even if it is slower than 802.11g (assuming that's what you've got.) 🙂
 
If you have 802.11b (i.e. Airport), than USB1.1 will be more than twice as fast, not counting the stability. With 802.11g you'll probably get double USB1.1 speed, assuming that you are quite close to the base (and get more than 80% connection / 4 bars) and don't use the line for something else (or use Bluetooth, a cordless phone or your microwave) while transferring...

If you have a USB port on your Mac, "any" USB drive will work. USB2 is also backwards compatible and will adjust to any USB1 connection, and are quite happy to be used at 11Mbps...
