Yesterday my dad put a DVD into his Mac mini. Upon start up a window popped up saying to define a Region or something. I'm really not too sure what that meant. Can anybody fill me in as to what this is? I didn't have to do this on my G5 or my PC laptop.

I'm sure this is a common term, but its new to me.

Thanks :)

Most computer dvd drives will require you to set the region the first time they are run, though I guess sometimes now. Anyway, the definition of regions can be found here: http://hometheaterinfo.com/dvd3.htm

He'll most likely want to choose region 1, since you live in North America.
