Help! MacBook Pro starts up but no apple logo.

My MacBook Pro will start up, chime and the gray screen will appear, then nothing else. When I turn it off again, a faint beep can be heard.



I have tried resetting it with these keys and no luck.



P+R+cmd+opt
shift
s+cmd
X
opt
cmd



Any help?

I had a similar problem with my 06 mini. Had to remove the CD drive in order for it to boot again. You could give that a try.
