So... you can't change your Apple ID email address on your iTunes account?!

Are you kidding me? Who thought of this crap?

EDIT: Discovered this only applies to MobileMe members. All the more reason not to sign up for crap like that, huh?

I've found that: if you have a "normal" Apple ID, you can change your email address.

However, if you have a MobileMe account... you're stuck with that email address as your Apple ID.

Yeah, I can corroborate your story. I had a MobileMe account, which was the same as my iTunes account, and I cannot change my username. I changed the email address it's associated with, but the actual user name is unchangeable. Silly yes, life altering, not really.
