What is the best way to migrate my iTunes library from one Mac to another, assuming I want to avoid re-syncing my iPod and iPhone when I'm done. I want it to be like I was syncing with the new computer all along. Can the migration assistant do this?

As a side note, can the Migration Assistant make an exact copy of my HD to copy to another? Maybe it needs the help of Time Machine? I just don't want to copy all this data, and not get the result that I want.

Use CarbonCopyCloner or SuperDuper to make a 1:1 copy.

Migration Assistant is for restoring FROM a copy, it will not make A copy.
That's what Time Machine and the other two applications I linked to are for.

Btw, has MRoogle helped you finding a solution for the itunes issue?

I keep my library on a separate external HD, so I plug into any Mac instantly. Not sure it gets any faster than that.
