Problem with eMac HD

I've got an eMac with an 80-gig HD, never had any problem with it until today. Just last week, even yesterday, I had 30-gigs of free space, but today there is NO space, "zero-KB available" I know that I could not have used 30-gigs overnight.

I suspect that somehow "Carbon Copy Cloner" (my back-up software) cloned itself onto the internal HD, rather than the back-up drive (external) I checked in the log that CCC creates when it clones at 2am Sunday morning, and it says that it successfully cloned, even when it was unplugged, as it was this morning. (previous logs note that sometimes the external HD could not be found, and CCC did nothing.)

I've created some room be deleting frivolous files (amounting to about 800megs) just so that programs would run properly, i.e. they used to not run at all.

Any ideas? Any help is appreciated.
