ATV2 and "Connect to iTunes" screen

Have my own ideas on how I hosed my ATV2 (no, not jailbraking!). The end result is I am getting the "Connect to iTunes" screen. Tried doing that - but never see the ATV2 as a device in the iTunes list. The ATV2 light just keeps on blinking. Anyone can help me here?
