does anyone know when/where this will be available? when do they usually get it out? like for registered developers?

Dev center came back up but no sign of the download yet...

Edit: Down again!

yeah i know. but i mean do they usually get it up the same day? or should i stop checking for it and just wait until tomorrow

It's partially up. I think it's just overloaded. The firmware is there if you can get in. I've just about completed my download :D

Depends on where you are. Here in the UK it's not usually up before bedtime (or at least it's too slow to bother downloading). So I usually get it the day after.

the Dev centre is up but pretty flaky - if you get the "we'll be back soon" message it probably means the servers are overloaded and you should just retry.
They've cunningly hidden the iOS 5 betas behind a tab that says IOS SDK 4.3 Beta...

what are the benefits of registering? I've heard I get a free version of Lion when it comes out? Would I get to keep that if I let my subscription lapse?

Lion is for paid-up registered Mac developers. iOS betas are for paid-up registered iOS developers. Not the same thing.

do you think its worth it to pay the $99 to get the beta early?

If you just want to use the beta and not actually develop apps, I would suggest finding a site that will register your UDID for you. It's usually around $7. A simple google seach of 'udid activation' will bring nice results. Ive used udidactivation

Are there any risks/issues with doing a UDID activation? Can I update back to the regular OS whenever it comes out? Will I have problems updating betas? Do you have any experience with using this?

They've just fixed that tab. :)

iOS SDK now.

I think you would be better off asking the people who run the website. They have a FAQ section and you can contact them.

No. I didn't even want to pay the $99 just to put my own app on my phone. My app isn't even that great, but I've already had over 400 downloads on the App Store, so that made up for my cost, which is all I care about. Anything extra is just gravy

Ok so if say theoretically a ipsw download link becomes available on the net fo the ios 5 beta can anyone install it on their phone?

What happens once the official software becomes available? Will this conflict with the beta version and will you be able to update to the gm version?

Wow, for people who aren't developers...stay away! I messed around with the 3.0 beta's without being a registered dev and it wasn't fun. Sure it was cool to have the newest OS but with 4.0 last year I was sure glad I waited for the public release.
