Good writing programs for Mac that's free

I'm looking for good writing programs that's like "Pages" from iWork but I don't have the money to afford it, the only thing I have right now is TextEdit, But I want something better any suggestions?

If you're looking for a nice, lightweight, decently-featured word processor, give Bean a try.

I agree, Bean is the most "mac" processing software after Pages.

PS: In case you didn't know Pages can now be bought as a standalone app on the mac app store and it costs a lot less than the iWork suite…
