Wings 3D

This is proabaly the BEST 3D modeler I have ever used and here's the best part, it's open source! That's right folks, 100% free goodness. Now mind you that it does not animate, texture, or render, this is a modeling application. Also note that this application only works under Jaguar.

I'm liking some of the results, and if I used blender POV Ray this would be nice. But I'm using Lightwave and as far as I'm concerned that's the best for me.

But its not bad and its always nice to see quality free ware.

Hey dukestreet, what I have found to be very good is to use Wings as your sole modeler and then take the model into Lightwave for texturing, renduring, and modeling. I find Wings to be the easiest to understand modeler and the fastest to use. i'm not telling you that your have to use Wings, but i find it to be superior in some respects to Lightwave.
