DVD drive on 12" G4 ibook noise

I only had my ibook for abou six months and certain CD or DVD when I insert them in my ibook the DVD drive makes a loud whinning noise for about 10 seconds really loud is this normal or does that mean my dvd drive is bad.
Thanks for all the people out here for ther tech support. I'm an ex-PC user just switch from the PC to Mac.
 
Hi, that sounds about right but if you start to get a grinding noise then get it checked out. When I first got mine it sounded louder than what I was use to at the time and I had it looked at and everything was allllll goooood 😛
