I don't have a link handy, but to get Airport working on Ubuntu you'll need a proprietary Broadcom driver. Google "ubuntu airport driver" and you should find what you need.

A quick search of the Ubuntu archives pulled this up:

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1590569&airport+driver

Though it is a bit old, it is good info that points to some even better articles. If you have not yet signed up for the forums, I cannot stress it enough as a long time user of Linux on both PC and PPC hardware.

Also getting onto #Freenode via IRC and joining the #Ubuntu channel can do wonders if you have another computer handy with an internet connection.
