Allowing developers to transfer their users to App Store
Is it that hard for Apple to offer developers the option to transfer their users to App store licenses. As the app store transitions to our 'central' place to find, buy and update apps we should be able to transfer over past purchases. Since the app store checks for a license file in the app bundle, wouldn't it be easiest for Apple to allow developers to create a different type of file that the App Store would recognize as being paid and allowed up update through the App Store mechanism? Thoughts?

Apple wouldn't do it because they wouldn't get their 30% cut.

Hey I really agree with you OP. I'd like to see this happen for apps purchased outside the App store. I'd like to simplify and consolidate my apps for easier management.
Whether this deals with Apple's 30% cut rule or not, Apple should find a way to make this happen.
