1 Password - Ok, it's not free but certainly the best I've used and it's cheap for what it does, you can also often get it in a bundle from MacUpdate.

Go for 1Password and put the datafile in Dropbox. I use it to synchronize passwords between 3 computers plus an iPod Touch. I've had no issues with it.

I personally like the built in keychain. It's free, built in, and works well. 1Password is nice too... just wish they would put it in the app store.

If you've got an iOS device I'd recommend getting the iOS version of 1Password before the Mac version. I use the iOS version all the time but found myself never using the Mac version. Might help save you a few dollars.

Another vote for 1Password. I actually got the iOS Pro version for free somehow. There's a good chance you won't need to pay full price (although it is more than worth it!). It's frequently featured in sales or other sites have discount promos. Not sure of anything going on at the moment though.

Yep, 1password is probably the best and most trusted app out there.

What's wrong with Keychain? Works perfectly well for me, and does the same as what this 1Password thing claims to do.
Why bulk up your system when there's already something that works? I can understand for browsers and things like that, but Keychain works great for me.

I got 1Password for free along with thier iOS app for free. When they released the iOS app they had it free for a week and I grabbed it then because I was just waiting for them to do a special on the desktop app. October they had a share with friends special and gave away free copy to friends and family. I got a copy for free then .
If you don't feel like buying it now just keep an eye on them and wait for a free special again. |

Wirelessly posted (iPhone 3GS: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8J2 Safari/6533.18.5)
I tried 1 password and it was ok. I actually prefer Last Pass. It's cross browser, and cross OS. So I can get my logins in OS X, Windows, Safari and FF and even IE. Last edited by SandboxGeneral; Jul 14, 2011 at 07:12 AM. |

I will say this about 1password:
I have it on My Mac, My iPod Touch, my Android Phone and my Windows PC- does that answer your question about what is the best manager? Oh did I mention it syncs with Dropbox?
