Saul Bellow, novelist who charted ironies of modern soul, dies at 89
My prayers go out to his family and friends. May he rest in peace.
Saul Bellow was an excellent intellectual writer of the 20th century. He was a three-time National Book Award winner. A resident of Boston since 1993. My wife had the privilege of meeting him, she said that they had a nice conversation. She usually wears a safari jacket, because it allows her to carry a lot of items.
