Quick heads up..

Just tried a normal ALT restore downgrade from 4.3.4 to 4.3.3 on my 1st gen iPad. Didn't work.

Fired up Tiny Umbrella with by 4.3.3 blob saved and everything was golden.

So I have to use TinyUmbrella to update my iPad1 from 4.2.1 to 4.3.3?

Or will redsnow work with the ipad1 on 4.3.4?

If you don't already have the blobs saved it won't work. As far as resnow on the first Gen goes, I haven't heard anything, but it wouldn't surprise me if Apple broke the jailbreak.

I think Cydia had saved my blobs automaticly.

I've done some research; it looks like redsnow is working on 4.3.4, but it'll be a tethered jailbreak

Unless I misunderstand how the blobs work, I think you have to have already upgraded for them to exist. So unless you previously had 4.3.3 installed and you downgraded for some reason the 4.3.3 blobs wouldn't be saved.

Apple is still signing 4.3.3 i just backed up the shsh again for the 20th time to see if they stopped. They are delivering 4.3.4 through itunes but still signing 4.3.3

TinyUmbrella can fetch the SHSH blobs of all firmwares that Apple currently signs.

Why did you wait so long to upgrade from 4.3 anyway, if you wanted to jailbreak?

lol I must have been lucky or something because last night I upgraded from 4.3 to 4.3.3 and it worked perfectly.

Guys, i just came back from vacation and read about the new update 4.3.4.
I'm still running 4.3.3 on my ipad2 wifi.
So I installed tinyumbrella to make a shsh backup and then JB. But tinyumbrella gives me a message "it is too late"

What shall i do?

P.s. No need to mention, i'm a newbie, i guess...:)

Probably. It usually takes a little while until the units on the shelf get the latest OS, it might evehave something earlier.

Confirmed - new iPad 2 from today still had 4.3.3.

It should have warned you when you first ran it to go to Advanced and uncheck the 'Get SHS from Cydia' option. Uncheck this, then run the "Save SHSH" button. It will save the blobs.

So, Apple isn't signing 4.3.3. for sure then? Dang! I need to restore my device because it keeps rebooting and I can't access SBSettings. Oh well.

If I have the 4.3.3 ipsw file saved on my desktop, can manually downgrade an iPad 2 that has a new firmware installed?

Do you have the WiFi only model or the WiFi + 3G? If it's the latter, you cannot downgrade, even if you have the SHSHs saved.
