Why do so many people type Iphone (or IPhone) instead of iPhone???
Seriously... it's iPhone, people!
iPhone!!!!!!!! That is all. It just irritates me. |

on the internet, i usually type in all lowercase and the dictionary usually corrects it for me, but unless you're writing some formal letter, who cares?

Auto correct sometimes causes it to come out IPhone... I mean Iphone.... iphon....

I try to always type iPhone as it is the correct way to spell it but some people simply don't obsess over grammatical consistencies.

The iPod, iPhone, iPad names are iconic at this point, but they'll never be intuitive as far as spelling and typing are concerned. It's just uncommon to have to type an uppercase letter after the beginning of a word. Sometimes a proper name, like DeIntinis, will have that combination, but many will elide the vowels in pronunciation and then use an apostrophe in spelling it, like d'Antoine.
I care how I spell the Apple product names but I mess them up once in awhile and sometimes don't go back to correct them. Apple won't care if you email your cousin that you love your iphone, trust me. They will just dream of laughing all the way to the bank when your dear cousin writes back "I know, I can hardly wait for Iphone 5 to come out!!!!!" On the other hand, woe betide you if Apple finds out you are trying to make a buck off using those names for your own purposes, and probably then it will not matter which way you spell them, Apple may spell out its concerns to you in some court papers. |

I've set Typinator to change iphone to iPhone, ipad to iPad etc. and even expand 'mbp' to MacBook Pro.
In case you're wondering, I had to pause it in order to type the above. But anyway, I find it very annoying when 'journalists' are incapable of spelling iPhone correctly, such as Laurence Latif of The Inquirer. His articles are total rubbish in general, though.
