I'm after a MBA. I've got £700 in cash sitting in my wallet and it'd save me a trip to the bank later if I'd could pay part cash and the remainder on my debit card. Any idea if they allow it? I'm guessing not.

If not, I can buy it on my debit card anyway outright, but it'd save me some time you see.

I see no reason why they shouldn't be able to do this. Pretty sure I've done this in the past.

Best bet is just to call your store and ask. 😉
Although I wouldn't think they'd have a problem with it.

Every retail store I have worked in allows you to do this, as said they are more than happy to take your money in any way!

Bought one with cash and card 🙂

Better yet it was an i7 off the shelf, was aiming to get an i5 if they only had them but I'll have this for 3+ hrs so thought mays well.

Quick question - is it worth reinstalling Lion to get rid of any superfluous stuff or is the difference negligible?

Edit: that's 3+ YRS lol!

Superfluous stuff? It isn't Windows, you know! There is no preinstalled adware, there are no time-limited demos. The only thing you might not use is iLife.

I think what you mean is "It isn't a Dell/Lenovo" etc. Windows does not come with any more cr@p than OS X

Actually, I meant stuff like translations and printer drivers as space is at a premium with ssd's. Was it leopard that had about 1gb of printer drivers by default? Don't use iLife, I deleted iPhoto/GarageBand etc after the initial launch.

Yes you can make payment via cash/card combo.
