How to re-download Lion?

People keep saying you can hold alt in the app store and re-download the install of lion, then find the .dmg to burn a Dvd or Usb bootable.

This just doesn't work for me.

Am I doing something wrong?

I did it yesterday and it worked fine. Not sure whats going on with yours.
