Two Short Films. "I'll keep you in my Pocket" & "Bye Bye Birdie".

My name is José R. Bishop , I am currently touring the World on tour with Cirque Du Soleil the circus show. We are in Argentina at the moment. My brothers dream is to become a director, much like I imagine everyone in this forum does to. He has been my inspiration since I could walk, so please help him. PLease watch these videos and share to everyone you know, especially if you know anyone with funding. Would be greatly appreciated, help out a budding director. (He would never post this because he doesn't think its fair to the other directors , but i think it would mean a lot to help him.

PLease do .

A short comedy about the tiring facts of life, Written and Directed 100% by my brilliant brother Loïc Bishop. (Music Cyrano De Bergerac.)

Another Film By my brother. (Heartwarming, well for me It is.) Hope you enjoy it. About another unfair fact of life being separate from a best friend too early, and unexplainable.

"I'll Keep you in my Pocket" (I came up with the title)

What do you think?
Watch them, share your thoughts and Email , share or post on Facebook, twitter or anything please.

MY aim is to get as many people to see his videos and the thoughts of them, so he will realise he has talent and can follow his dream, (that being said, please post any constructive criticisms)

And if you do have any friend in "High places" please show them swell.

Thank you everyone, it is greatly appreciated and I look forward to hearing from you.

Cheers

José R. Bishop

(Any questions, thoughts, or anything please comment and I will personal message you his email address.)

They're ok, they have a storyline going for them at least.

There's no work on lighting done, but maybe that's just because he's on a budget.

The second video, after he pans from the window to the bed. The next clip is the kid sleeping again in the bed from a slightly different angle. Instead, he should have panned to the entire room to get a sense of location awareness. He does this many times, the shots are just too repetitive and unoriginal, as if a family was just filming a vacation.

In the first clip, he could have had over the shoulder shots between two characters to get a better feel for a conversation going on (at least for just 1 scene, he repeated the same boring angle so much)

Hope this helps him, he's got a lot of work to do but with enough dedication he could get there.

Firstly how old is your brother?. It is not a good idea for you to praise your brother. And in one way or other begging.
Both videos are of standard work. He needs to really learn the art instead of stringing small stories together.
I think you are doing a good job by encouraging him. But be very and i mean very constructive about his work.
Video one; Acting very hammy but music helped. Not a good idea to use well know music in video films.
Video two: Acting not bad, music and dialogue not matched. Leave out the effects.
Best way to test his skill?. Give him a short story and see how he transforms the story.

Hey, not bad. For some reason, I was hoping for a punch at the end of the second video instead of a hug, but I like comic relief.

It's nice of you to promote your brother's work. Promotion is important, but practice is paramount. Your brother can absolutely be a director if he sticks with it and continues to produce. I hope that rather than kicking back, resting on his laurels, and waiting for the awards to come pouring in for these two films, he's out there making more! That's how you get good. Just keep doing it, and the quality will come. Use the constructive criticism to get better, ignore the haters, and keep producing. Work hard and good things will happen.

PS: Nice choice with the devotchka.

Pretty Awesome

Hey Guys,

Just saw the videos, pretty awesome work from all, very much like the romantic love films back in the 20th century. Captured it all very well.

I just wanted to congratulate Loïc on his work, and wondered if you pass on a message for me. So I am not sure if he will remember me because I did show him around but it was a very long time ago, around about in 2008 I think it was, Loïc came to London with the Cirque Du Soleil Varekai show touring, with your family. I wondered if in private you would pass on his email to me so I can get back in contact with him, want to ask him a few questions about it all.

Would be a massive favour.

Doubt he will remember my name but say its Daniel Proctor, from London, PADDINGTON ACADEMY. He came on an exchange thing to my school for a few days.

Thanks Jose

Good acting little man!
