Can You Run Multiple Apps Simultaneously On Ipad 2 Smoothly?

I'm thinking of getting an ipad 2 mainly just to run griid pro and touchable for my music production - can I run both at the same time?
Thanks

I just went through and closed all running apps on my iPad 2 because of a troubleshooting method for an app not because I noticed any lag. There were 30 apps still running some from 2 weeks ago still at the spot I left off. So to answer your question, no.

Generally speaking, iOS devices run the foreground app and any in the "background" are suspended. There are various exceptions such as receiving push notifications, gps navigation, recording audio, completing a task, etc.

@xxxsteveoxxx -- I'd argue that those 30+ apps weren't "running" as much as they had a saved "state" that they'd pick back up when you ran them again.

@PeteJames -- no idea about those apps; and from a quick glance at what they are, I suspect the question is better asked to the support groups / developers of the apps themselves as I'd guess there'd be more to trying to simultaneously run two different Abelton controller apps than just whether or not an ipad can run two apps.

They don't ever really run at the same time. They pause, and switching back and forth is snappy so you don't even notice that they ever paused. So the practical answer here is yes. The technical answer is no, you can't even "run" them at the same time.
