The trackpad on my 2010 MBP purchased in December 2010 is messed up....its like the clicking function is "stuck" or something. I click the button and on the left side it won't click at all the right side will click a little bit but takes some effort. There is less of a solid "click" and its really hard to just do basic functions. I set it to just touching the pad to click on things but I really don't like that. I'm not sure how this happened. I let my sister use my MBP for once and I get back and handbrake has been canceled and my trackpad is messed up :mad::mad: Apple store less than a mile from me but would like some feed back....:( I really don't like this...

EDIT: I took a short video with my iPhone ill post a link... :/

Check to see if your battery is swelling. I had strange intermittent track pad issues due to the battery swelling and causing pressure to the bottom. Apple replaced the battery and trackpad as a result for free.

Sound like a visit to the Apple store is in order.

Nice! Surprised I didn't think of that! Any symptoms of this other than an obvious buldge? Like maybe lots of heat? I haven't noticed either...but still it could be something Ill stop in of course.

Took it to the genius bar and the initial ddx was swelling battery or trackpad screw issues. He took it out back 15 minutes later he said the screws that connected my trackpad were completely loose/free moving and stripped...he said the way they were in the computer someone must have messed it up in manufacturing :O anyways he fixed it free of charge obviously and its working better than when I first got it! Crazy how I went this long like that! Side note the genius let me do a little demo on the cinema display with my own macbook it was pretty cool. Overall still obviously very impressed with Apple ;):D:D:apple::)

If it works better than it ever worked before, it sounds like you had a dud from the beginning.

I have always found the service in the Apple Store to be top notch! I just wish I didn't have to drive an hour plus to get to one. :(
