All of a sudden my apps do not work properly if I am not connected to wifi. I can still make/receive calls & texts at anytime.
For example: I went to use the maps & directions when driving home, it could not verify my location. I tried using Soundhound off my car radio, it said the signal was weak. ESPN app was not getting updated scores.

Even my emails are not coming through on 3G.

I have full bars and the "3G" on the top of my home screen.

Assuming you've already tried the obvious, like powering off/on (not just putting the phone to sleep, but a full reboot) and a hard reset:

Try "reset network settings" under the Settings -> Reset menu. You may need to reenter any wifi passwords afterwards, I can't remember, so have them handy. But that cleared the issue for me when I had it happen a couple of months back, and it will not erase any other data from your phone. (Don't touch any other options on that page though, especially the "Erase all content" one!)
