I just wrote a book about iPad
... but I need some help.
It is supposed to be independent an exclusive iBookstore low price (2-4$) edition. Approximately 40% of it is basic tightly packed manual, 40% are tips and tricks and about 20% is the rest. It's intended for starters to mid range users. And it might be the first manual to cover iOS 5.0 on the market. I need catchy title. Working title for now is "Tightly Packed Manual with Tips and Tricks". I agree, it sucks. Last edited by annk; Aug 21, 2011 at 06:30 AM. Reason: Solicitation |

Will probably also publish one chapter for free as a separate ebooklet. I already have title for it: 21 Uses For Your iPad 2 You Probably Never Heard About. Although something shorter would be nice alternative too ...

"A guide to using my 1st iPad" is what I can humbly come up with.
Although on 2nd thoughts, that sounds sucky as well.

How about "21 iPad 2 Uses You Probably Didn't Know" ? A little shorter and gets the same point across (I think).

I am just kidding as I have no idea what, if any, NDA exists for 5. |

Some half useful tips here. But we are getting somewhere ...
For original book: iPad 2: Creative Learning From The Beginning For second ebooklet: 21 Creative Uses for iPad 2 Here are few sections from chapter 11 (the second booklet). Tell me what you think (not proofread of course, so pardon my Engrish): Chapter 11: Creative Use of iPad iPad owners must be able to think outside the box. This, at times very amusing chapter, full of useful tips, serves to that purpose. But mind you, for most of them you will have to install specific app and not all mentioned in here are free. Flashlight Select very bright background for your desktop, then set brightness to the maximum. Voila. Instant LED flashlight. However, you can also help yourself with apps, that show only bright white screen (other colors are also supported): 1-Click Flashlight, Free Light Flashlight... Those more ambitious applications can have a whole array of lightning tricks – from ordinary light bulb imitation to stroboscope blinking (home disco!). Some can even be turned on with clapping. If that does not leave an impression... Metal Detector Magnetic field detector can not only be used for compass, but also to detect metal. Again, there are several applications that can do that: Metal Detector, iTesla, Real Metal Detector. But you do not even need app for that. Just fling few paperclips on the center of iPad's screen then gently tilt it to the right. There it is. Magnetic field detector is magnet for itself. Just do not ask me how do they work. Cat Toy If you think that you are having fun using iPad, then try it on your cat. Fun for both guaranteed. Do not worry, it will not scratch the screen or even broke it, unless you own an ocelot. Cat Toys Lite and Expensive Cat Toy apps are simulating mouse and other vermin (in non-free version) in a box. If you believe that your kitty is artistically gifted, then reward it with Paint for Cats, so it can paint without annoying stains on the paws. Dog Whistle Dog lovers can also find a lot of dog specific applications. Especially for those ones, who does not now how to whistle. Whistler Dog, Dog Whistle Trainer, Ultrasound Whistle can simulate whistling. You can combine and test different pitches, even inaudible (to human ear) ones. |

I wish you lots of luck with your book, although there are definitely other user guides available for free.
But here are a few stabs at a title: Getting the Most Out of Your iPad You Just Bought an iPad - Now What? iPad How-Tos The Definitive iPad Guide

There are tons of manuals, magazines and books out there regarding the iPad. What makes your book stand out? You tell us that and you'll have your title.
