Hi, gang!

I'm in a bit of a pickle, and was hoping I could gain some insight here.

In the past, I've been able to take a used iPod (my wife gave it to me when I got her a new Touch some years back) and sync to my own, separate iTunes account, and sync to my iTunes library.

Now, I'm trying to do the same with one that was a gift to my son from his grandma.

Only problem is, when I plug in the sync cable, nothing. No chime over the pc speakers indicating that iTunes recognizes that there's even a device at the other end.

Any ideas on correcting this?

Have you tried resetting the iPod, slide the hold button on then off and hold the center button and the menu button at the same time till the apple logo appears. After a reset it might be found in iTunes.
