SAN FRANCISCO—Following the resignation of Apple founder Steve Jobs, incoming CEO Tim Cook called a meeting of shareholders and members of the press Thursday morning to announce that he envisioned printers as the company’s future. “Laser, ink-jet, double-sided, color, black-and-white—the future of technology is in printers. I am absolutely convinced of that.”

More here.

its actually true...he is thinking about printing..

jobs left him the task of getting a 3 and 4d printer onto the ipad 5

How about cloud printing. You print to one of Apple's vast printing centres and they post you the printouts ;-)

I heard Apple will be installing cloud printer in 7-11s. Print whatever you like and go pick it up at the store with your coffee. Talk about convenience.

why stop at just a 4d printer, there are many more dimensions to explore.

in the future, we will have the iPrinter. you buy the macbook on apple.coma nd it prints out your whole config. as in your macbook comes printed out asa solid useable macbook. :) that's the future. just load up your 3d printer with the respective cartridges and it takes 2 hrs to print out a real MBP.

Well he may be right.

Memjet are starting to license their technology and have LG, Lennovo and others on board. Silverbrook is behind this technology and it looks like it could revolutionize printing. Phone sized printers are perfectly possible too..
