I have entered appointment on my iPad and would like them to sync to my iCal. I'm not sure why it will not do it. :

Unless you subscribe to Mobile Me(not available anymore), they're not going to sync wirelessly with each other at this time. They will sync when iCloud comes out, but to do that you must have iOS 5 and Lion. iOS 5 is still in the beta form and not available to the general public.

You can sync the two when you're iPad is attached to your Mac thru iTunes. You must check the corresponding box in info to do that
