Are password management programs like e-wallet truly safe? I'm not concerned about getting hacked by someone on the street, but how can you know if the company itself isn't able to retrieve the data you enter on your credit cards, banking, etc?

I can't speak for e-wallet, but I use 1Password and it stores everything in an encrypted file which I put where I want. There is no way for the company to access my info, since they have no idea where I have it stored.

Password protection/management programs

Yeah, but what if the program has a subroutine to broadcast the data to the company?

Or am I just paranoid?
