Powermac G3 And Tiger

Hi, I currently have a powermac g3 350mhz b&w with a cd drive. I also have a powermac g4 mdd dp 1ghz with a DVD drive. My tiger disc is a DVD but I want to install it on the g3 b&w. Can I put the DVD drive from the mdd into the g3 b&w, install tiger and then take it out and put it back into the mdd

you could do that, or connect the two with a FireWire cable and use target disk mode to use the G4s DVD drive on the G3.

I did the same thing with Panther in a Beige G3 desktop (swapped an aftermarket DVD-RW from my Digital Augio G4), and it worked fine.
