I recently upgraded to Photoshop CS5 and I'm having trouble with the camera raw file compatibility with my Canon Rebel T2i pictures. I've gone back and forth with Adobe trying to fix the problem. Even though Photoshop says the files are compatible, I can't open them and keep getting an incompatibility error message.

I haven't not been able to even install the plug-in updates. Has anyone else had this type of issue? What was the solution?

What version of the Camera Raw plugin do you have?
What exactly happens when you are trying to install the updates?

The version of the plug-in that came with CS5 was Camera Raw 6. The update I'm trying to install is 6.4.1. It gets about 11% through the install and then errors out. The error message simply says that it was not installed.
