Keyloggers for ipad 2???

Hey guys,
Just wondering if anyone knows if there are any good keyloggers on the market for the ipad 2. Apple discussed possible releasing of a good key logger for OS X and the ipad on the link I provided below. I guess I am just wondering if it actually did come out. Does anyone have any idea? If not from apple are there any other companies out there that have a good one? A friend of mine told me that I may have to jailbreak my ipad 2 and use cydia. I don't want to go this route because I just bought my ipad and don't want to risk voiding my warranty or anything else going wrong... What can I do? Any help would be greatly appreciated.. :confused:

Keyloggers will not work on a non-jailbroken iOS device. The apps are sandboxed.

You can run in the Mac emulator that's part of the development kit and use a MacOS keylogger...

Theres no 2 ways about it, you will HAVE to jailbreak, theres a good one in the cydia market place for like $10, jailbreaking is 100% reversible and cannot cause any permanent damage.

I am not sure if it is OK to reply to such an old topic. A friend recommended this forum to me. I just bought an ipad for my 12 year old son. I need a keylogger to make sure he is not viewing those unwanted Internet. I restricted his access to many many sites, but I still worry that he might find the loophole as he is a tech sawy. I made a few searches and few of them talking about ipad keylogger. I am new to keyloggers and I am not sure what keylogger I should use?

Bear in mind that you will have to jailbreak the iPad before a keylogger can be installed.

You didn't mention how you're currently filtering, but OpenDNS is a good way to go.

Well you bought him a iPad.... I suggest knocking before entering his room.

If by "unwanted" Internet you mean porn you have already lost that battle. There is absolutely nothing you can do to prevent a teenage boy with an interest in seeing pictures of naked girls from doing that. It was true pre-Internet and it is true now.

What do you mean with "unwanted Internet"? I can only assume you mean porn. There are no out-of-the-box keyloggers for iOS.

How you raise your child is absolutely up to you, but I think you're dealing with this situation in the wrong way. Teenage boys get interested in certain things and you won't be able to stop that. What you are doing now is just trying to block certain websites and you're making porn a 'forbidden fruit'. You'll only make it more interesting for him and if I were him, and I found out you were blocking websites, than I would only try to access these websites (because such a website gets way more interesting when your parent(s) are trying to block such a website).

If I were you I'd let him just explore. There is, by the way, nothing wrong with a bit of surveillance but I think a better way is just to talk with him instead of installing (hidden) tools to track what he does. Teach him to respect others and he'll be just fine.
 
Also another thing... Wouldn't it be kind of weird checking the logs and finding out which porn sites your son may have been on.. To me that seems like it would make a very awkward couple of days.

While I agree, be mindful that not all curious children are in their teens. And there are certainly types of porn that would be disturbing, not intriguing, for a child. If only we were talking about naked women, but there's nothing wrong with being a diligent parent trying to shelter a child from imagry that can be disturbing for even many adults.

That being said I have no experience with key loggers, and as someone else pointed out it seems like a poor preventative measure.

She mentioned 12 which is pretty close to teen years but yea I agree but really the only way to really combat this would be for constant adult supervision. This is not a technology issue it is a parenting issue. No existing technology could fix this.
