I have an ipod classic 6th gen 160gb, & I have used this http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0041F3A02 with it to connect to & play through a stereo with an axillary output cord, & it works well, & I notice a difference in sound quality as opposed to plugging & playing through the ipod's headphone jack.

The odd thing is, I tried this with my other ipod classic 7th gen 160 gb, & the line out I linked does not work at all with it, I can only output through the headphone jack.

is it just not compatible, & another line out would be?

I found this one http://www.amazon.com/SendStation-PDLO-MiU5-PocketDock-Adapter-iPhone/dp/B002ACNZFI/ref=pd_cp_e_1

on amazon, but it is alot more, & I dont want to spend that if these are just simply not compatible with the 7th gen ipod classic 160 gb.
