Backups reset, iTunes Match to be reset, what about Mail, Contacts, Calendars?

Does anyone know if Apple plan to reset Mail, Contacts and Calendars some time before the public launch of iCloud as well? If yes, what are some of the useful/necessary steps to take in preserving the data? Would switching off iCloud syncing suffice, thus saving all the data locally, and then simply turning it back on once iCloud goes public? Any help/tips would be much much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

No one besides some high profile Apple workers knows what is going to happen. I'd say it's a pretty save bet you're mail, calendar and contacts are not going to be reset and are safe.

Saving you're data locally (Address-book / iCal / Mail) is imho sufficient. Contacts can be backed up through iCloud.com.

Apple have already stated on the Developer Forums that Mail, Contacts and Calendars will no longer be reset during the beta, or after it. This has been the case since they allowed MobileMe migrations for developers.
