I know how to install rams and harddrive on macbook pros, is it the same for imac? what is the base model 16GB ram that I should look into and the harddrive I want at least 1TB what is the best for that? does it take 2.5 sata or need help? thanks

Changing the RAM on an iMac is as simple if not simpler than changing RAM on a MBP.
Hard drives are more complicated, and require you to take a part most of your Mac. A guide to changing your hard drive can be found here.
The base iMac comes with a 500GB, but you can upgrade to a 1TB yourself, or if you upgrade the processor/gpu for $300.
