Audio-only FaceTime = arrival of earpiece & proximity sensor in next gen iPod touch?
With audio-only FaceTime coming in iOS 7, does anyone think that the next generation iPod touch might finally have an earpiece plus a proximity sensor in it?

It seems like that would make the iPod touch almost exactly the same as the iPhone. Doesn't apple want to sell iPhones more than iPod touches?
But that does seem like a practical idea to promote FaceTime audio…

I suppose with the iPhone 5C potentially starting at $350 to $450, it doesn't make much sense. But given the fact that everything is there for an iPhone WiFi (iMessage, audio-only FaceTime), I thought it might be a possibility.

I agree with everyone in this thread.
That said, perhaps they'll start shipping with proper EarPods
