if i got a thunderbolt display and hooked it up to my mbp how would the lacie hard drive work? why would i want the set-up?
 
you hook up the Lacie to the display and then the display to the MBP.

Other stuff also gets hooked up to the display.

Therefore you maintain the clean look with just the TB display and magsafe connections.
 
how does hard drive function with this set up. is this a good way to store pics and music between notebooks?

Thunderbolt allows devices to be daisy chained. Meaning they don't have to all be connected to the computer (your MBP) but instead you could connect the TD to your computer, and then connect the Little Big Disk to your TD, and then connect something else to your LBD without any problems. I believe there is a limit, but I'm not entirely sure what it is.
