6970M in 20.5" iMac 2011?
Hi all,
Apologies if this or something similar has been posted elsewhere... I currently have a 2.8Ghz i7 20.5" iMac (2011) with a 6770M 512mb. My question is, am I able to replace this GPU with a 6970M as per the 27" models? Your help/answers are appreciated. Cheers.

the correct answer is "not offically"
im sure something could be done, as its an MXM removable board in the 2011 imacs, however it would likely need a custom heatsink creating, and custom firmware for the card. so short answer nope. ![]() because apple wont offer a decent video card in its imacs im going hackintosh for my desktop.
