Whatever trick that is out there only works for 10.7 to edit the Host file, now with this new update, there is no way to edit the Host file on 10.7.1!!! is there any other way that I'm not aware of?
I used nano editing, but when I changed the host file and tried to save it by cmd+X it didn't respond!!! I guess I was rushed and just wrote the sudo part not the sudo nano! honestly I thought they patched the host file again so there is not way to edit it. since you are doing fine then it means I did something wrong on my end.

I still use the old trick: Finder >>> Go >>> type /etc >>> drag host file into desktop >>> remove the host file in etc folder >>> open and edit the host file at desktop >>> drag the edited host file into etc folder again.
This trick still works as well.
