AT&T iPhone 4S Pre-Order Status Thread

So stoked! Just checked my Gmail account and got an email from AT&T stating that my order has been sent to the warehouse for shipment and also got my new mobile number in the email as well! Yay!

Just thought I'd share...It's pretty exciting! :D
 
One thing I found weird though was the new number had a different area code than where I'm located :confused:

Good - hopefully the same will happen for some of these other folks who seem to be having trouble getting any info at all.

Double check to make sure that it's not an alternative area code for your area
If not, I'm sure you can call AT&T and get it sorted out.

Yea, I may give em a call to get it changed. Truth be told it doesn't really matter a whole lot. This line will only be used occasionally. I mainly opened a 3rd line on my family plan to get the subsidized price and so I'll always have an upgrade available between my family plan :)

Nobody cares about someone proclaiming this in a NEW thread as there are already 10 million threads just like this. If you are excited, put it in one of those threads.

I don't know if I'm being too ambitious, but seems we should have a single thread for the order statuses and changes.

On topic, my status is showing up as "Preparing for shipment".
 
I think a lot of us would be greatly appreciative if someone would post a little step by step of how to track their package (if they pre ordered from AT&T's site) I know I could use the help =]
 
I have a feeling this thread will blow up tomorrow.

EDIT: Oh yea. I ordered mine on the AT&T site. I am no longer backordered. My status is In Progress.

Order went in at 2am PST. Was having some issues with the site since I once was a premier partner.

Bank account has the full amount pending (2 16GB White 4s).

Instantly received confirmation email with delivery date of 10/14/2011

Status - Processing for both phones.
 
My charge was only pending on Friday. The charge dropped on Saturday. Thought that was weird. Thought it would hold for longer.
 
Ordered from ATT.com around 5 AM CDT on Friday, status went to "Processing" and "Pending Shipment" early this afternoon (Sunday).

Hoping to have a tracking report to watch obsessively here soon. :D

This is the first iPhone that I've ever pre-ordered. I'm replacing a launch-day 3GS.
