I'm trying to install Tiger on my parent's Mini but they do not remember their system password.

Is there a way to bypass this necessity and do a clean install onto the system?

From memory: If you start from the DVD (holding down C on startup) you can reset admin password from the Utility menu inside the Tiger installer...

yeah. when you first boot into tiger (holding the C key as the computer is starting), one of the menus at the top should have the option to "Reset Password"... just do that and bam, you are good to go :)

Installing Tiger does not require a password at all. You can just go through a normal install (make sure to back up data first) and it will let you. I recomend and archive and install.
