I am too but I was just able to get a tracking number by searching by reference on UPS.com, which I wasn't able to do an hour ago, so don't lose any sleep over it yet...

There are LOTS of people stuck on "preparing for shipment" OP including me. You aren't alone. My UPS thing works now though.

Everyone should be "stuck" at that on the Apple site - Apple holds back the updates until it gets closer.

Mine, on Apple, said it shipped 2 days ago.

Yeah no go on FedEx and UPS for me.

It takes a while after the origin scan before it starts working. My origin scan was at 4:16 AM in China. It is now 2:56 PM there and the UPS trick didn't work for me until an hour ago. Keep trying... (and remember to use the phone number associated with your Apple ID).

Shoooooot!

Mine still says processing items! Haven't even seen ANY shipment notifications as of yet....really annoying! I figure I better see something by Wednesday or Thursday. The only tracking I see is for the white bumper that an apple represenitiv sent me, thats it! Ordered a white 64gig AT&T phone Friday morning at 4:30 am or so. Looks like my order will be one of those that will be over nighted to my address because of late status updates.

For those of you saying you're still "preparing for shipment" on apple.com but you can see something on UPS.com, what exactly are you doing to find that information?

It's been posted on the other numerous threads on here.

Visit UPS.com, and find 'Track by Reference'

Under reference enter the Primary Account's mobile number, regardless what number you are upgrading or porting over. For example enter it as follows 9496758736, no prefix or dashes. Whoever is the main account holder, you gotta use that number to find it.

Then select your country, I assume USA, and your zip code.

Go to http://www.ups.com/WebTracking/track?loc=en_US&WT.svl=PriNav, click on track by reference, type in the phone number associated with the apple id you used to order (without any dashes, i.e. 5551234567) in the reference field, and enter your country and zip code. A few hours after the origin scan it will show up. The origin scans do not all happen at the same time like the departure and arrival scans do so keep trying if it doesn't work.

Too cool. Nothing yet showing on apple.com, but checking ups.com verified my iPhone has shipped. Thanks for the tip.

Ok, so im not in full panic mode yet but me being the good husband that Iam, I place an order for two phones one for me and one for wifey. Wifeys phone was broken so I ordered hers first then 30 seconds later ordered mine. Both were ordered at launch at 5:00AM EST on apple.com. Hers shows shipped and mine stil shows preparing for shipment. Should I be worried or is the typical? I dont wanna be the one watching her play with her new toy while Im sitting there with my thumb up my butt...:(
