No more music needed on my ipad - thanks home sharing.

The best part about upgrading to ios5 today was that I can now seamlessly listen to my tunes stored on my macbook pro through the native music app. I have an iphone that I store music on and the ipad is mostly used around the house and is only 16GB so this was a welcome addition.

To set it up click "sharing" on the left panel in itunes(you may need to first enable sharing in itunes preferences). Then setting up a home share is just your itunes user id/password, takes about half a minute for it to set up after you enter. Then on your device just go to settings->music-> and enter your user/pass under "Home Sharing".

You can access your shared library on your ipad/iphone in the music app under "more"->"shared".

This worked under iOS 4 as well.

Shouldn't iCloud further improve this? By even eliminating the need of a Mac and allowing you to stream form the cloud?
